The International Play Association (IPA World) is establishing the IPA Play Research Network, with membership open exclusively to IPA members.
The aims of facilitating the Play Research Network are to:
- build a supportive and nurturing space for all IPA members to share knowledge, engage in critical practice and build collective expertise in rigorous and ethical research activities
- expand play research and knowledge creation, finding common concern across the IPA chapters related to the shared purpose of supporting the child’s right to play and for collective interests in environmental and social justice
- encourage and support research activities by individuals and organisations who represent stories, voices and communities from all IPA membership regions
- promote the work of the members in undertaking and disseminating play research
- increase the impact and value of research to the work of the IPA World.
The membership of the network is open to all IPA members actively engaged in non-commercial academic or other approved research on play or play spaces.
Play Wales Assistant Director, Marianne Mannello is the national representative for IPA Cymru Wales – the Welsh branch of the IPA. If you would like to know more about becoming a member, please get in touch.
