A new report has been published of a pilot neighbourhood research mentoring project carried out in Wales from August 2023 to June 2024, funded by the University of Gloucestershire.
The research project was led by Mike Barclay, Ben Tawil, Wendy Russell, Donna Gaywood and Emily Ryall, and supported by Play Wales. It involved providing a mentoring package to support staff in two Welsh local authorities to carry out neighbourhood level research into children’s opportunities. Action plans were then drawn up from the research, as a part of the participating staff’s role in the Play Sufficiency Duty.
The report, Developing a Neighbourhood Response to the Play Sufficiency Duty: a report on the neighbourhood research mentoring project August 2023 – June 2024 provides an evaluation of the research and offers key considerations for carrying out future mentoring projects.
