The Children’s Commissioners for Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have submitted a joint report on the reality of children’s rights to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child.
The report provides information to the committee on the UK and devolved governments’ human rights records and whether the UK is keeping its international children’s rights promises. It highlights areas of concern around children’s rights, including poverty, mental health, and proposed changes to the Human Rights Act by the UK Government.
The report makes several recommendations and calls on governments to put children’s rights at the heart of policy and practice.
