Developing and managing Gypsy and Traveller sites

Author: Play Wales
Date: January 2015

This good practice guide has been designed for anyone with responsibility for or involvement in managing or developing new and existing Gypsy and Traveller sites.

This guide provides clear and concise information to support local authorities developing new and existing Gypsy and Traveller sites with play and early years provision. It contains information to help understand and address particular areas of concern. It also includes practical, step-by-step tools, templates and models of successful provision.

We developed this guide with Save the Children’s Travelling Ahead project. We set up and consulted with a focus group of providers whose experiences helped us develop the models and address the most significant issues.
