Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council is recruiting a Play Co-ordinator to join its Childcare & Play Team. The successful candidate will take the lead in delivering fun, inclusive and meaningful play sessions for children and young people across the borough, and will plan and deliver after-school and school holiday sessions.
The role includes planning activities, sourcing materials, assessing and booking venues, and promoting events within the community. The Play Co-ordinator will support volunteers, oversee on-site delivery, and ensure the safety, wellbeing and enjoyment of every child.
A key part of the role is ensuring provision is accessible, inclusive and child-led – while embedding the Playwork Principles in all aspects of the work.
A level 3 playwork qualification, or level 3 CCPLD/Level 3 Youthwork Practice and enrolled on a Level 3 Playwork qualification within six months in post is essential for this role.
