Right to play workshop

Author: Play Wales
Date:
November 2020

This workshop is designed for playworkers, participation workers, youth workers and school staff to run in schools and other structured settings.

It has been designed to be used by anyone with a working knowledge of how to support and facilitate children’s play using a playwork approach. This could be a playworker, play development worker or teaching staff member.

The workshop aims to raise awareness about the right to play. It also aims to empower children and teenagers so they can make the case for better opportunities for them to play and meet up with their friends.

The workshop can be delivered on its own, but it is also a useful way to start engagement with a school. It includes a range of resources that can be used during and after the session including:

  • a workshop session plan
  • a poster for children to share what they have learned
  • learner outcomes for use in schools.
