The Welsh Goverment has announced that it is providing £7m of funding to support a 2022 Summer of Fun. Building on the success of last year’s programme and Winter of Wellbeing, the funding will be used to offer free activities for children and young people aged 0 to 25 across Wales to support their social, emotional and physical wellbeing.
Announcing the funding in a written statement, Deputy Minister for Social Services, Julie Morgan MS, said:
‘Over 67,000 enjoyed a host of free indoor and outdoor activities including music, theatre, sea-based sport activities, climbing and zip lining, offering inclusive opportunities to take part in activities to engage with society again through play based activities … I look forward to seeing more of our children and young people enjoying their summer again this year in Wales.’
