Penrhos Coastal Park in Holyhead on Ynys Môn has been voted the UK’s favourite park in a national poll carried out this summer by Fields in Trust.
This is the first time the overall winner has been chosen from Wales, after more than 30,000 votes were cast over the shortlist of 364 parks and green spaces.
Penrhos Coastal Park is a popular 200-acre nature reserve that includes beaches and woodland walks, attracting around 100,000 visitors per year.
Commenting on the result, Fields in Trust Chief Executive, Helen Griffiths said:
‘It is clear that this park is a very special place to a lot of people, and we are thrilled to officially crown it the UK’s favourite.’
