The Welsh Government has published guidance to support understanding of the Child Minding and Day Care Exceptions (Revocation and Transitional Provision) (Wales) Order 2026, which comes into force in April 2027.
The guidance is intended to help providers understand what the Order will mean for their provision and whether they may need to register with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW). This may be relevant to providers in both the registered and unregistered sectors, including those offering play, childcare, activity, coaching or tuition provision.
The Welsh Government is encouraging providers to read the guidance and consider what the Order may mean for their service. Any queries about whether a service needs to register should be directed to Care Inspectorate Wales.
