The St David Awards are the national awards of Wales, organised by the Welsh Government and nominated for by the public.

The awards recognise the exceptional achievements of ordinary unsung heroes, well-known individuals, organisations, companies and groups from all over Wales across 11 categories.

Anyone can put forward a nomination for the awards, and self-nominations are accepted. The award categories for 2025-26 are:

  • Bravery
  • Business
  • Community Champion
  • Culture
  • Environment Champion
  • Innovation, Science and Technology
  • Public Service
  • Sport
  • Young Person (aged up to 19 years)
  • Volunteering
  • First Minister’s Special Award (chosen by the First Minister)

All finalists in each of the first 10 categories are selected by the St David Awards Advisory Committee.

The finalists and winners are decided upon by the First Minister of the Welsh Government and their advisers.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony in March 2026.

Closing date for nominations: 26 September 2025
