This free online event will feature two international speakers discussing aspects of climate change and play.

The first speaker, Dr. Mathilde Duflos will discuss her research on how climate change affects grandparent-grandchild outdoor play. In investigating grandparent-grandchild outdoor play, one of the main concerns that emerged is the continuation of intergenerational outdoor play when climate change becomes a challenge.

Breann Corcoran will continue the theme to discuss her research on how climate change degrades children’s health. The research focuses on the effect of heat extremes on children and its impact on quality outdoor play. She will share her PhD research on children’s thermal comfort and associated outdoor play behaviours in a preschool setting and demonstrate how well-designed shade can foster quality outdoor play experiences for young children.

This event is accessible to members of the International Play Association (IPA) only. To become a member of IPA Cymru Wales and gain access to this and other events, visit: IPA Cymru Wales membership.
