This course aims to equip participants with the confidence and essential, up-to-date knowledge necessary for safeguarding children and young people within their environments.
Aims of the course:
- gain an understanding of the key legislation, guidance, policies, and procedures that govern the safeguarding of children and young people, including e-safety
- comprehend the roles of various agencies involved in the safeguarding of children and young people
- recognise safe working practices that are vital for ensuring the safety of children, young people, and practitioners in a professional setting
- identify the signs of different types of child abuse and learn how to recognise these in practice
- understand how to respond appropriately to evidence or concerns regarding the abuse or neglect of a child or young person
- be able to articulate the principles and limits of confidentiality, including when it is appropriate to share information.
Who should attend:
This course is designed for individuals who work directly or indirectly with children and young people across a variety of workplace and community environments.
The training is particularly suitable for practitioners classified as Group B according to the National Safeguarding Training, Learning and Development Standards. However, practitioners from Group A may also participate if they require more comprehensive safeguarding training.
