The Welsh Government Deputy Minister for Social Services, Julie Morgan MS has issued an update on the Children and young people’s plan for January 2024.
The plan set out the promises the Welsh Government has made to support all children and young people in Wales – such as supporting their right to play. The update provides an overview of progress and actions taken since the plan was first published in 2022. Actions relating to children’s play include:
- providing funding to Play Wales, Social Care Wales and Cwlwm to support the childcare and play sector
- providing funding for the Summer of fun and Winter of wellbeing in 2022
- publishing the resources and guidance for staff, Early childhood play, learning and care in Wales, in June 2023.
