Explore Play Wales
The Welsh Government has published a new suite of resources, as part of the Early Childhood Play, Learning and Care approach for 0-5 year-olds in Wales.
The aim of the resources is to support practitioners in childcare and play settings and schools in providing quality early childhood play, learning and care.
The resources include:
- A Quality Framework for Early Childhood Play, Learning and Care in Wales
- Early Childhood Play, Learning and Care in Wales: A Reflective Practice Toolkit
- Early Childhood Play, Learning and Care: Developmental Pathways for 0-3
All the resources align with the National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare in Wales and the Curriculum for Wales.
In a written statement, the Deputy Minister for Social Services, Julie Morgan MS and the Minister for Education and Welsh Language, Jeremy Miles MS said:
‘The suite of support materials should ensure practitioners offer well-evidenced, well-informed, and successful approaches to early childhood play, learning and care and help them actively reflect on and continuously improve practice to better help all babies and young children to grow and develop.’
