Cycle to School Week (3 to 7 October 2022) is a UK wide annual event organised by Bikeability and Sustrans to celebrate the benefits of cycling to school. This includes the positive impact on children’s health and well-being.
Everyone can take part – children, teachers and parents – and there is no registration process for schools. The school journey can be made with any type of cycle, for example a tagalong or scooter.
In 2021, participants pledged 33,314 cycle journeys to school. This year, the organisers want you to choose from one of four pledges:
- cycle to school everyday
- swap one car journey for cycling
- cycle with your family
- discover somewhere new on a cycle ride.
